Bob Smith (Oracle Corporation) and Kevin Creel (Inspirage) will jointly present an educational session to explain the major functional differences between Oracle MRP and the Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning appplications on June 26, 2008 for the OAUG Advanced Planning & Collaboration User Group.

Oracle announced the introduction of four applications during the OAUG Collaborate ’08 Conference on April 15, 2008. Three of these applications are part of the Oracle Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) suite and the fourth is a new manufacturing application.

These new applications are available for Oracle applications Release 12.1:
o Oracle Advanced Planning Command Center
o Oracle Service Parts Planning
o Oracle Demand Signal Repository
o Oracle Manufacturing Operations Center

A friend asked me to explain the primary differences in how Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) supports Oracle Process Manufacturing (OPM) vs. Discrete manufacturing. I thought this might be of general interest, so I am reposting part of my response here…
