A friend asked me to explain the primary differences in how Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) supports Oracle Process Manufacturing (OPM) vs. Discrete manufacturing. I thought this might be of general interest, so I am reposting part of my response here…

Bob Smith, Oracle Corporation, and Kevin Creel, Agile Planning Group, provided a presentation to OAUG’s SCC SIG on March 6, 2007. This session will explain the new Oracle Advanced Planning Suite features introduced in Release 12 with a special emphasis on the enhancements for Distribution Planning.

Kevin Creel provided a presentation to OAUG’s SCC SIG on December 6, 2006. This presentation was similar to the one provided at Oracle Open World, but focused exclusively on the supply chain planning topics.
