Andrew Peller Limited, a Canadian winery, embarked on an aggressive overhaul of their business processes and planning systems in 2012. Historically they went through a traditional monthly planning process using Excel spreadsheets and Access databases, which were cumbersome and inaccurate resulting in excess inventories and / or shortages. APL decided to implement an Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process and at the same time implement a totally integrated planning system that would allow them to not only plan near term daily production but also forecast wines sales ten years into the future which is a very unique aspect of the winery business.
APL selected Inspirage to help them implement their IBP process and Oracle’s Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) with Constraint Based Optimization (CBO), Demantra Demand Management (DM), Real Time Sales and Operations Planning (RTS&OP) and the Advanced Planning Command Center (APCC) to the process.
