The OAUG Advanced Planning and Collaboration Special Interest Group (SIG) provides educational webcasts on topics related to the Oracle Advanced Planning & Scheduling suite of applications. These webcasts are held on a monthly basis and are open to members of the Oracle Application Users Group (OAUG). The schedule for the summer and fall 2008 is listed below. Oracle MRP is in support only mode and has not been enhanced in 10 years. During this period Oracle has continued to develop the advanced supply chain planning application. This presentation will describe the broad new feature set and industry specific capabilities that have been developed for ASCP.

This will be an overview and demonstration session of Oracle Global Order Promising. The intent is to explain the products use, provide a demonstration, and allow members to ask Oracle Product Management and peer user companies questions on the use of this application.

The Oracle Global Order Promising GOP) application provides superior Available to Promise (ATP) capabilities based on Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning information and existing descions for sourcing, capacity, customer allocations, and more. GOP is fully integrated with Oracle Order Management, Quting, Configurator, and other applications. The tool supports many advanced capabilities such as product family and allocated ATP, capacity and material substitutions, and multi-level, muti-org supply chains.

This will be an overview and demonstration session of Oracle Supply Chain Planning Command Center. This Oracle product is new and being introduced in Release 12.1 The intent is to explain the products use, provide a demonstration, and allow members to ask Oracle Product Management on the use of this application.

The new Oracle Advanced Planning Command Center provides an integrated business intelligence system with role-based analytical dashboards, business planning scenario management, and automated process and task management based on the information contained in Oracle Advanced Planning, Demantra, and Strategic Network Optimization applications. This is intended to easily tie together planning information from several inputs and provide executive level metrics. The system provides the ability to define, track, and compare planning scenarios and directly drill down to the details in planner workbenches of each application.

This will be an overview and demonstration session of Oracle Service Parts Planning. This Oracle product is new and being introduced in Release 12.1 The intent is to explain the products use, provide a demonstration, and allow members to ask Oracle Product Management on the use of this application.

The new Oracle Service Parts Planning application enables manufacturers to predict demand across the different types and criticality of service parts, align and monitor the most profitable service supply chain, and optimize the replenishment and redistribution of these parts across the extended service value chain. This planning tool is intended to manage both the forward and reverse flows of materials in a service network. Oracle Service Parts Planning allows you to forecast, manage replenishments, and redistribute service parts across your supply chain. The new application is based on the Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning data model and is also directly integrated with Demantra Demand Management (for service contract demand) and Oracle Inventory Optimization (to manage targeted service levels and budgets).

This will be an overview and demonstration session of Oracle Inventory Optimization. The intent is to explain the products use, provide a demonstration, and allow members to ask Oracle Product Management and peer user companies questions on the use of this application.

Oracle Inventory Optimization is an application that determines the appropriate safety stock levels to be maintained to maximize your profitability based on your business policies, demand and supply variation, and your budget guidelines. The tool is capable of postponing inventory to the lower levels of your supply chain, risk pooling, considering complex supply chain factors such as sourcing rules, capacity constraints, and alternates, and more. This application is fully integrated to feed safety stock ploicies directly for use by Oracle ASCP.

Kevin Creel | Key Contributor

Kevin Creel is a co-founder of Inspirage and currently serves as President, Strategy and Business Development. Mr. Creel leads the global business strategy and development organizations at Inspirage. He is a recognized subject matter expert for supply chain management business process and system design. Kevin frequently presents at industry and analyst events on subjects such as cloud supply chain systems. Prior to founding Inspirage, Kevin worked for Oracle Corporation as a product manager leading supply chain systems design with a focus on high tech and configure to order products. In this design role he acted as a “voice for the customer” leveraging his 15+ years of experience in business leadership and system engineering roles in the high tech and semiconductor industries. In 2008, Kevin was recognized by the Oracle Technical Network as an Oracle ACE for his thought leadership and educational contributions within the Oracle professional and user community.
