Source Photonics will provide a presentation to the Oracle Applications User Group (OAUG) Advanced Planning Special Interest Group (SIG) on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Amit Nagra, Vice President Supply Chain, has agreed to repeat the presentation that he provided at OAUG’s Collaborate09 conference in May 2009 to a wider audience of the OAUG community via webcast!
Amit Nagra, VP Supply Chain, will explain how Source Photonics leveraged Oracle’s Inventory Optimization (IO) application in 2008 to significantly reduce inventory and improve supply chain responsiveness. Inventory Optimization is utilized to plan safety stock and inventory levels for a complex multi-org, multi-level supply chain based on estimated variation in demands and supplier lead times and desired service levels. This safety stock strategy is then utilized as a policy to drive their daily Supply Chain Planning process. This implementation is a second phase of supply chain improvement program building on a foundation of Oracle Constrained Advanced Supply Chain Planning.
Source Photonics is a leading provider of optical communication products used in telecommunication systems and data communication networks. Source designs, manufactures, and sells a broad portfolio of optical communication products, including passive optical network, or PON, subsystems, optical transceivers used in the enterprise, access, and metropolitan segments of the market, as well as other optical components, modules, and subsystems. In particular, Source products include optical subsystems used in fiber-to-the-premise, or FTTP, deployments which many telecommunication service providers are using to deliver video, voice, and data services.
