Manufacturer of plumbing products migrates from on-prem PLM to Oracle Product Development Cloud
When a company runs its most important applications on-premises, there is the risk of becoming boxed in by the limited resources and functionalities available in such an environment. Such was the case with our client, a major manufacturer of plumbing fixtures such as sinks, faucets, drinking fountains, and bottle filling stations. They were brushing up against the limits of their aging on-prem product lifecycle management (PLM) solution.
This system was increasingly out-of-date and no longer scalable to its growing worldwide operations. The company maintains its manufacturing facilities in the United States, and has global sites in both China and Mexico. Operating as a family-owned business for over 100 years, the organization has always been at the forefront of innovation in serving its residential and commercial customers. However, to continue doing so, it needed a fundamental change in how it managed its applications and data.

The change from a limited on-prem PLM platform to a cloud-based set of solutions helped the company gain a single source of truth to drive its business processes, with key improvements to new product development, multi-site bill of materials management, and real-time data publication in particular.
